With her son in high school and her daughter recently graduated, Denise’s “loving” of Squamish is demonstrated by her decade long contributions to Parent Advisory Councils and her current position as Chair of the Howe Sound School District PAC. Denise works closely with School District officials to ensure the quest for excellence in Squamish schools is maintained. Regular attendance of School Board meetings helps solidify her efforts on behalf of parents and children in the area.
In consultation with the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia and the proponents of the proposed Sea to Sky University Denise works hard to ensure that the routes traveled to our schools are “Student Friendly” and that Safety is First and Foremost.
Any day of the week, through all seasons, you’ll find Denise “living” Squamish. Her sixteen-year career in the fitness industry, as manager, trainer, and instructor, has given her an expert background for her enthusiastic approach to Squamish’s outdoor opportunities. Denise can often been found enjoying the extensive local trail network—hiking with her two dogs, hiking up the Squamish Chief, biking, or going for a family stroll. If it has to do with being active and enjoying the Squamish fresh-air experience, Denise is grateful to “live it.”
